At Pacific Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, we specialize
in the medical and surgical treatment of the recreational athlete. This includes a broad age range of individuals who particicpate
in traditional and non-traditional sports, including the injured weekend warrior, the grandparent with boomeritis and the
adolescent playing club ball. Treatment is multidimensional and includes education and a discussion of training regimens,
sport specific exercises, shoewear and injury prevention. This is often coupled with nutritional supplements, medication,
bracing or splinting and injections as necessary.
Although every effort is made to treat patients non-operatively,
surgery is sometime necessary. In these cases, Drs Piatek and Lauritzen, both Board Certified Fellows of the American Academy
of Orthopedic Surgeons, have the experience and expertise to take care of your problem. They are current in the newest bone
and cartilage sparing procedures including arthroscopy, minimally invasive techniques and partial joint replacement.
